Working Together
Shasta Lake Chamber
We had a great time presenting to the fabulous board of the Shasta Lake Chamber of Commerce, and suggesting we join each other’s chamber and work together for a better representation of Shasta County. We all agreed and we are now joined to each other. Please check out the Shasta Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Willow Creek Chamber
If you have ever driven to Humboldt via 299, you drove through Willow Creek, the Bigfoot Capitol of the World. It’s a small enclave with some great stories and set in a beautiful location. We have joined each other’s chambers and we look forward to working with our friends in Willow Creek. Make sure to check out the Willow Creek Chamber website, and plan on attending Bigfoot Daze during the summer.
The Presentation We Made
We were asked to make a presentation on the marketing impacts (tourism) of shifting Shasta County into the Rural Counties category instead of remaining in the Suburban category. All of our neighboring counties are Rural, and they meet and collaborate. Shasta County was in the Suburban category and met with and collaborated with Suburban counties. Shasta County is now (back) in the Rural Category.
Here is the presentation we made, click the image for the pdf. If you have any questions, please ask at the next Roundup or send us an email.
Upcoming...
Shasta County is Open for Business
Shasta County has terminated its impact fees for new development and improvements. This culminates into a roughly $80M tax cut. We will explore this in detail over the next couple of weeks.
